Cucina Francesca is the pasta studio of Susan F. Raunig (a.k.a., Francesca): "I am committed to using traditional ingredients and methods to make pasta by hand. I cherish my craft--an artistry I wish to preserve and share."
Travelling to Bologna—the gastronomic capital of Italy—in 1993 and 2006, Susan learned the art and skills to become a pastaia ("pasta maker").
For eight years, Susan worked as pastaia at Cafe Juanita in Kirkland, WA.
Susan's pasta studio is located in a Kirkland "villa", surrounded by a garden designed as a peaceful refuge which also provides fruits and vegetables for her culinary adventures throughout the growing seasons.
